Pfft. "Douglasville." Which decade? The county-seat Douglasville of downtown and the old in-town streets, the boom-years Douglasville that filled the Chapel Hill corridor through the '90s and 2000s, or the I-20 Douglasville of Lithia Springs and the commuter subdivisions? They don't share a garage door between them, and our trucks run all three routes from Durelee Lane every morning.

Downtown and the in-town streets (30134) are the county-seat core, older frame houses, brick ranches, and detached garages that pre-date anybody's idea of a standard opening. The doors out here are heavier and older: original wood panels, tired extension springs, openers from three owners ago. We repair what's worth repairing and we're honest about what isn't.

The Chapel Hill corridor and the south side (30135). Chapel Hill Road down to Bill Arp, Anneewakee Trails, the whole subdivision belt off Highway 5, is boom-years Douglasville. Here's the problem with a subdivision where every house went up in the same eighteen months: every garage door came from the same builder order, with the cheapest springs and openers the budget allowed, and they're all hitting end-of-life on the same schedule. Torsion springs are rated in cycles, not years, and twenty-five years of daily up-and-down is the schedule. Most of what we replace out here, we replace same-day off the truck.

The I-20 corridor and the county edges. Lithia Springs (30122) by Sweetwater Creek State Park, the Arbor Place Mall stretch along Douglas Boulevard, Winston (30187), and out toward Villa Rica, is commuter country. Two-car and three-car doors cycling four, six, eight times a day, red-clay grit and spring pollen packing into the tracks, and the west-metro temperature swing fatiguing spring steel year-round. These doors work harder than anybody gives them credit for. An annual tune-up out here pays for itself.
